The Christopher Kieb Memorial Golf Outing was established in 2004 by his friends Bob Bush and Jared Throneberry, with the help of Mr. Kieb, as a tribute and memorial to Chris after his sudden death. Chris was an accomplished drummer, and Drumline instructor at Manchester High School, so what better way to keep his spirit and memory alive? The Scholarship has been awarded the past 16 years to graduating students from Manchester High School Bands who have gone on to participate in a collegiate music program, but not necessarily as a music major. Over $14,000.00 has been awarded so far due to the profits from this golf outing.

Chris Kieb attended Eastern Michigan University and participated and performed with the EMU Marching Band as a member of the Drumline, performed with the Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps and was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi (National Band Fraternity, dedicated to service for the university band). Although Chris sold industrial supplies, he loved music and each summer he worked with the Manchester High School Marching Band as the Percussion and Marching instructor.
